Production was resumed in May 1942 by Famous Studios, a successor company to Fleischer, which produced eight more cartoons in 1942–1943. They were originally produced by Fleischer Studios, which completed the initial short and eight further cartoons in 19. Giving it a try will be more meaningful than anything I said here. The Fleischer Superman cartoons are a series of 17 animated short films released in Technicolor by Paramount Pictures and based upon the comic book character Superman, making them his first animated appearance. You will learn how to type fast without looking at the keyboard while having fun. For example, the rock star, goat, will sing a rock roll song with playing guitar the yak from Tibet will play some kinds of Tibet music which are really quiet and mysterious The flamingo will bring you some lively Spanish style flamenco music.Īnyway, all I want to say is that this BBC typing course is really interesting and useful. Different cartoon characters will play a different genre of music. Last but not the least, one of the highlights of this flash is the music. For example, the octopus in the stage two will teach you some Italian like “ciao, bambini” which means “hello, kids”, and the yak in the stage seven will take you to one of the most mysterious places in this world – Tibet and tell you some mysterious stories about it. For example, in stage one, because the goat is a rock star, you will break all the music discs at the bottom of the screen when you finish all the tasks in stage three in which the main cartoon character is rooster, you need to break all the eggs to accomplish all the tasks.Īpart from all the things mentioned above, the characters will say something very interesting in the process of learning typing. In different stage with different scenes, the tasks are set up with different objects. It will make you feel like you are traveling if you open your mind to imagine. Different scenes are designed for each stage in this flash game of learning typing, you will learn how to type while appreciating the beautiful views. They will give you some tips when you cannot type on the right key, and they will pay you compliments when you finish a task. In each stage, there are also some support characters. When you come to the last stage, you will meet the whole family there, and I can’t wait to tell you that there is a big party waiting for you! They are (from the first stage to the last stage) Goat, Octopus, Rooster, Hip, Ninja Turtle, Flamingo, Yak, Giraffe, Queen ant, Cat and Snake. You will meet different teachers in this flash course. Now, let me give you guys a general introduction about the BBC typing class – Dance Mat Typing. With this BBC typing course, you will experience a totally different learning journey. There must be tons of different courses and practicing programs for typing, but most of them are not attractive to kids or students because of the boring exercises and low-quality images. Even though you don’t have any clue about typing now, you will become a “typist” who can type fast without looking at the keyboard when you finish all the tasks in these 12 stages. In this course, there are totally 12 stages divided into 4 levels that will help you learn typing from scratch. Hello kids, welcome to join the Dance Mat Typing course. “ Dance Mat is great fun! It shows us how to type using the correct fingers. No signing up or logging in the clear instructions and simple interface may very well allow kids to use it without adult assistance.Dance Mat Typing will help your kids learn to type – or if they can type already, it’ll help them get better and better!.At the end of each stage, there is always a song by the teacher and his or her supporting cast to celebrate the kids’ accomplishments. The animated animal teachers take kids through each of the 12 stages, narrating and showing them where to place their fingers on the keyboard, which fingers to use to type particular keys with onscreen cartoon hands. It is interactive, fun, free and easy-to-use for kids the system is complete with animated animal characters, graphics and sounds. We provide friendly menus or lists and other cool stuff to make it easier for you and your kids to use Dance Mat Typing to effectively learn how to type.ĭance Mat Typing is structured as a series of four levels with three stages for each level (you can find them in the menu above). Do you have kids or students who want to learn how to type? Dance Mat Typing by the BBC is a good choice. Tamron costs 1299 euros and i am not sure whether i would enjoy using it as i have mentioned above. Sony costs 1099 euros but there is a cashback of 100 euros and also there may be discount offers, if i wait. Would i notice any big difference in autofocus, manual focus experience, weight, handling, bokeh and usable shutter speeds with sigma vs the sony? Sharpness is not that important, i suppose they would be at least as sharp as the contax which is fine by me. Sigma 105 is closer to 135 of contax but sony 90 seems to be physically closer to contax and also has oss which would probably be good for low light shooting( i do enjoy using voigtlander 35 1.2 in low light). I have used sony 24-105 and this seems to be the upper limit i could go regarding weight( Sigma 105 is indeed a bit heavier). Also for some reason i do not enjoy the photos of tamron that i have seen online as those of the sony 90 and sigma 105. I thought of tamron 70-180 but it is quite expensive and 800 gr weight seems too much for me, although the lens is light for what it is. I just like taking photos in my free time. I do not intent to to macro photography with tripod and flash. I do like shooting experience with contax zeiss( manual focus ring, size and bokeh) but i want to replace it with a lens with autofocus and shorter minimum focus distance as a telephoto walk around lens. I am currently using sony a7iii with sony zeiss 16-35 f4, voigtlander 35 1.2 se, sony 55.18 and contax zeiss 135 2.8( manual focus). I am interested in buying one of those two lenses. Most reviewers are over the moon with the IQ of the Sigma 105 DN but D Abbot and one or two others point out how relatively well implemented the Sony's manual focus is (not just the cluch to engage and disengage mf) (and another how the Sony has better AF in bad light). I used a Minolta 100 RS in the past and its focus ring was mechanically coupled but it wasn't very nice to move, further I've used other native Sony lenses so know how the electric focus ring takes some getting used to and I'm not overly fond of it on the Sony E 30 2,8 macro. I can see the logic in that even if most times I will slowly move the camera back and forth. Sorry here too for a later reply but do you have an opinion on the feel of the manual focus ring?ĭ Abbot mentions the Sony has the nicest electric focus ring he has encountered that is significantly better than his Canon 100 L as well as the Sigma 105 DN that particularly macro work requires a focus ring with good feedback. There is some behaviour close to mfd that I am trying to figure out - with AF the lens sometimes will lock on and then slightly defocus. Sigma AF struggles close to minimum focal distance if contrast is low. Keeper rate with Sony 90 >99%, Sigma maybe 80%. Also note that some returns are caused by flawed test procedures, by user error. I don't quite understand those who need to try 4 or 5 lenses before they get one copy that they can accept - probably too much pixel peeping for a certain issue, forgetting that every lens is a balance between optical properties. I have had more faulty Leica cameras and lenses than from any other brand. There are lenses within the tolerances (almost all of them), and a very few that just are faulty. It's like returning your new automobile to the dealer 4 times until you get a "good one". (And reading posts on these camera forums). I never new there was such qc variability on such a mass produced item such as camera lenses until I started buying them. I have never had to retur a Sony lens, and I test my lenses for the basic properties at arrival, like centered lenses, autofocus, even corner sharpness, etc. I hear quality control (variabity) on the Sony 90mm is high. You could assess if OSS if worth it or not for your use and in case you're not happy, you could easiely sell it back.ĭid you get a good copy on your first try. You might be able to get it for cheaper than the Sigma. Have you considered getting a second hand Sony 90mm? Has that nice MF pull ring dis-engagement. The Sigma is $300.00 cheaper than the Sony.Īnyways.All my indoor macros will be on a tripod, and my outdoor "spontaneous" macro shots will probably be in bright light, so I can probably live with only my IBIS. I believe they had an older macro that had OSS. Not sure why Sigma did not incorporate OSS. If it had OSS, even at the same price point as the Sony, I'd buy it. The preilliminary reviews have the image quality of the Sigma to be a tad better than the Sony. I'm torn between this lens and the tried and true Sony 90mm Macro. Since this lens (Sigma) has only been out a few weeks, there is probably not a lot of hands on experience, but anybody have any hands on experience □?. They also do this in the true Cedars (Cedrus), but in those trees the needles are wrapped around the stem and not in two rows.Īlmost all Fir Trees have a single central trunk. As well, the cones usually stand upright on the stems, rather than hanging down as they do in spruce and most other evergreens. They are flat and they have two white stripes on the underside. The needles (leaves) of fir trees are normally arranged in two rows down either side of the stem, instead of growing all the way round. Appearance of Fir Treesįir Trees look very like the more well-known spruce trees, such as the popular blue spruce seen in many gardens, but they can easily be recognized as different. Add some other evergreens in different colors and shapes, and you have the perfect low-maintenance garden interest all year round. Most grow well in sunny spots, and often enjoy rocky places where other plants may not do so well. Some of the special forms of Fir Trees are smaller, and they can be used in garden beds for their interesting foliage, hardiness and winter color. A Fir Tree in a lawn is also a great Christmas tree for the holiday season, and it can be decorated with lights to spread joy to everyone who sees it. Remember to allow enough room for the branches to spread out, as you don’t want to spoil the form by trimming. Many are fast-growing too, so you won’t wait long for a beautiful tree to develop. They have a beautiful symmetrical structure and grow with a strong central stem and radiating branches. This is an interesting alternative to more common plants such as arborvitae or cedar, and gives you a different look, with options for foliage colors other than green.įir Trees are also often planted in lawns as specimens. Usually Fir Trees as screening will be allowed to grow naturally, but you may be surprised to learn that they can also be trimmed into a tight hedge. This will totally protect your property, giving you privacy and a beautiful garden. They can be planted alone, or you can add other trees and shrubs to create a full wind-break, of you have room. A row of these handsome trees will soon become an attractive barrier that is green and protective all year round. One important use of Fir Trees is for screening. They are easy to grow, tough and undemanding, so when looking for evergreen trees, consider the fir tree. For easy growth, especially in colder parts of the country, they are wonderful for screening, as lawn specimens, or in their special forms as interesting specimens to use in your garden and bring a unique touch. In gardens they are popular evergreens, and as well as the natural trees there are many garden forms, with different foliage coloring, different shapes and often smaller growth for smaller spaces. They are important forest trees, often covering hundreds of square miles with the same tree, creating valuable ecosystems. Although ‘fir’ is a name often given to any tall tree with needles that looks roughly like a Christmas tree, it is actually a particular type of tall tree, which grows all across the northern countries of the world, from North America, through Europe and across into China and Japan. Not only because you’ll be reaping your account’s triple-tax advantage, but also for your future! However you decide to contribute towards your HSA, you’re making a smart move. So if you were only HSA-eligible for 8 months out of the year, you’ll only be allowed to contribute the equivalent of that amount. To make this happen, first, figure out how much you can contribute (since your limit is prorated based on your eligibility in 2022). Whatever the case may be, you may still be able to contribute to your HSA assuming you were eligible for 2021. Or you switched jobs and they don’t offer an HSA-eligible health plan. Perhaps you changed health insurance plans and you’re no longer HSA-eligible. If You’re No Longer Eligible for Contributions in 2023 Consider how nice it’ll be to see that money grow by the time you’re ready to retire…or when you need it for an unforeseen medical expense.Īnd always remember: time is one of your best advantages to investing, so it’s smart to think of contributing to your HSA as part of your overall retirement strategy. But! If you do have some extra cash, say, from that side-hustle, or maybe your rich aunt gave you a nice chunk of change for your birthday, think about socking those dollars away instead of spending them on a weekend getaway, or that new TV you’ve been eyeing. Well, sometimes circumstances get in the way, and that cash needs to work for you in the immediate. So why not contribute as much as you can and max out your account out each year? The whole point of an HSA is to make your hard-earned dollars work for you, as well as to help you save on medical costs (duh). Well, since your HSA is tax-free and any contribution you make to it (except direct, pre-tax paycheck deductions) is tax-deductible, making a contribution before the tax deadline helps you maximize your tax benefits, which is to say: you’re paying less in overall taxes. Now… let’s say you added in a side hustle in 2022 and it did really well, which also means you’ll need to pay more in taxes. Always check with the IRS for the specific year’s date. Contributions are based on tax year so you usually have until April 18th to contribute towards 2022. The contribution limits for 2022 are $3,650 for individuals and $7,300 for a family. As in its epic triple-tax-advantage: withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax-free, contributions to your HSA lower your taxable income, and any interest you earn in your account grows tax-free. However, contributing to the previous year has some specific perks…Ī major reason to have an HSA is for its incredible tax benefits. No matter how you slice it, whether you’re contributing to your HSA for this year or last, you’re taking the right step with your finances. No lie! This hack is like how retirement accounts work in that you can contribute towards 2022 for tax purposes, e ven though we’re well into 2023. When it comes to health savings account (HSA) contributions… there’s quite a bit to talk about! Although it may sound strange, putting money from this year toward your HSA contribution limit from last year can seriously benefit your wallet. Have some extra money and thinking about putting it towards your health savings account (HSA) contributions in 2023? Not so fast! Here’s why. You can gather and create playlists for music, videos, and images, and with so many plug-ins and controllers, the range of options only continues to grow. ago I used this you have to pay a yearly fee but it means you don’t have to reinstall every 7 days. Your health insurer has negotiated discounts with everyone in the network. In simple terms, a network refers to the doctors, health care providers, hospitals, and health care facilities that are part of your plan. Save money by staying in your plan’s network For example, if your premium is $300 per month, the total for the year, $3,600, is not reflected in the out-of-pocket maximum. Premiums are not included in a health insurance plan’s out-of-pocket maximum, so be sure to factor this in as you compare the costs of various health plans. (In some cases, employers pay a portion of the premium.) If you get your insurance through your employer, the premiums may be automatically deducted from your paycheck. Why? Because you need to think about your total out-of-pocket costs when choosing a plan.Ī premium is a dollar amount you pay for your health coverage, usually monthly or biweekly. We tend to focus on premiums when shopping for a health plan, but the plan with the lowest monthly premium may not always be right for you. Premiums are part of the cost of health insurance You need to keep all of these things in mind as you calculate your true out-of-pocket costs. So, in general, a copay is what you pay up front, while coinsurance is what you pay later.Īdded together, the annual deductible, copays, and coinsurance make up your out-of-pocket maximum, the total amount you could pay for covered health care during the year. You’ll also receive an explanation of benefits (EOB) from your health plan that describes the charges you’re responsible for. With coinsurance, the health care provider will usually send you a bill, and you’ll pay the doctor or clinic directly. If your plan’s coinsurance is 20 percent, you’ll pay $20, and your insurance will pay the rest. Let’s say you visit the doctor after you’ve reached your annual deductible, and the cost of the visit is $100. Coinsurance is your share of the cost of a covered health care service after you reach your annual deductible. You almost always pay a copay at the time of service. For example, your plan may require a $25 copay if you go to your doctor when you’re sick or fill a prescription. A copay (sometimes called a copayment) is a flat fee you pay for a covered health care service.Remember that most health plans today have two different deductibles, one for in-network care and a separate deductible for out-of-network care. For example, if your plan has a $1,000 deductible, you pay the first $1,000 of covered services before your insurance kicks in. The deductible is the dollar amount you pay for covered health care services before your insurance plan starts to pay. Most health plans have three types of out-of-pocket costs: an annual deductible, copays, and coinsurance. Educating yourself about how health insurance works can help you plan ahead, calculate how much you may need to pay for your health care, and make the most of your health plan. Premiums, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums-if you’re not really sure what these terms mean, you’re not alone. It isn’t always easy to understand the different costs that may be part of your health plan. Choosing an RFID blocking wallet comes more in handy when you usually keep your wallet in a back pocket than if you store it in a purse or front pocket. On the other hand, a leather wallet works great for dressier events. You can also store your business cards with dimensions of 90 mm x 50 mm, or a combination of cards, business cards and banknotes. If you want a wallet that can handle tough conditions and be cleaned very easily, try going with a material like carbon fiber.Keep in mind that carrying as few items as possible comes in handy in case your wallet gets stolen or lost.Keep in mind you can also have multiple wallets that you might take with you depending on your activities. It helps to do a clean-out to locate unnecessary items like expired gift cards as well as put away cards you rarely use in a safe place.
The basic steps that you need to follow are as follows: The GOG version of Quake comes with a complete disc image of the Quake CD (and its expansion packs) in the bin/cue format (game.bin and game.cue for the main game, the other files are for Quake's expansions). This is because Quake will only look for music on the first disc drive it detects. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Make sure you mount the disc image file using a drive letter that's lower than any other (virtual) disc drives you might have on your machine! For instance, if your computer is fitted with a DVD drive assigned to drive letter D:, you'll need to mount the disc image file to A: or B. cue files are intended for Quake's expansion packs. NOTE: To play the main campaign you'll only need to mount the game.cue file. cue files that come with the game before playing and the soundtrack should work! A common piece of such software is Daemon Tools, however I personally prefer WinCDEmu since it's open-source. If you have the GOG version, you'll need some virtual drive software that can mount bin/cue files. If you have a Quake CD, just put it in your disc drive. The main problems with this method are that the copy of the soundtrack that you obtained might not be of the best possible quality, and it might not have been de-emphasized resulting in it sounding distorted. I'm not going to post any download links here since I'm not sure whether it's allowed, but it shouldn't be too hard to find one. Extract it from the disc image files (GOG version only)Īll you gotta do is download the soundtrack from somewhere and place it in the game's "MUSIC" folder.Play the soundtrack from the game CD or disc image file (GOG version or CD only).Download it from somewhere (maybe compatible with the Steam version).Unfortunately, after installing the game through any digital distribution service you'll find that the MUSIC directory is empty, and the game will have no music! Here are the ways you can fix this, sorted by difficulty and platform availability: ogg format files in the "MUSIC" folder within the game's install directory. In addition to this, the default Quake engine also supports playing music from. Quake was originally meant to play the soundtrack from the game CD, which would've been in the disc drive during play. The answer is that yes, it does, and while it's a bit of a pain you can get it working without downloading anything/installing custom engines etc. While it may work with the Steam version too, I have no idea if it does, because I don't have it! Some methods might work with custom engines/source ports, but you should make sure to read their documentation first.Ī while ago I made a post asking whether the version of Quake on GOG contains the soundtrack, and got conflicting answers. NOTE: The following has only been tested to work with the GOG version of Quake. |
